The direction and policy of the Engineering Society is set by the Engineering Society Council. Council is the legislative branch of the government, and can override decisions made by the officers (the executive branch). It is the top level of government for the Society. Every Class Rep, Director, Officer, and Discipline Club Chair has a vote on Council. Meetings are held monthly and are announced by email. You are more than welcome to attend.
Members of Council
Council members include:
- Officers, the Society's executives.
- Internal Directors that are elected by Council each year.
- Year Chairs from each Class.
- Class Representatives from each discipline and year.
- Ex-Officio Directors representing affiliated Skule groups.
Meetings
Council meetings, which occur once every month, are not restricted to members of council. Every member of the Engineering Society (all full and part-time engineering students) is welcome to come to council meetings to voice their opinions. Meeting dates are announced on the main page as well as through EngSoc massmails.
Bylaws & Other Documents
The society is governed according to a number of bylaws. The EngSoc Documents page contains downloadable pdf files of all Bylaws, Meeting Minutes and Meeting Agendas.
