CONCERTO COMPETITION
Skule Orchestra is hosting a concerto competition for all classical musicians who have a concerto prepared. The date is March 25th, with time and location to be determined. The contestant will be performing in front of a panel of judges, and the winner will have the chance to play in front of an audience, accompanied by Skule Orchestra, at the 2011 year end concert Symphonic Boom. We are eager to discover the individual musical talent within the Skule community, and this is a great opportunity for you to perform with a full orchestra in front of an audience.

SYMPHONIC BOOM
7PM April 6th 2010, Church of the Redeemer (Bloor and Avenue)
Symphonic Boom is Skule Orchestra's final concert of the year. Each year we challenge ourselves with a harder repertoire, and each year we put on a more exciting concert. Last year Dvorak's Symphony no. 9 was performed in its entirety, along with the first movement of Schumann's Piano Concerto, featuring Alice Chun. This year we are performing, among other works, Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade and the Overture from Verdi's La Forza del Destino, which was performed at the Eng Sci 75th Anniversary Concert.
If you like classical music, and want to witness the tremendous musical talent within the engineering faculty, this is a concert that you cannot miss.
Tickets: $8 general admission / $4 students
